Full-Time
Washington Hospital is a 359-bed, acute-care district hospital situated beneath the beautiful foothills
of Fremont, California. This not-for-profit facility provides a full range of high quality medical
services in the Eastern section of the San Francisco Bay Area.
We are currently seeking two Clinical Nurse Specialists: one for Neuroscience (6th floor, stroke unit),
requisition 2008.00720 and one for Cardiovascular Services (5th floor, ICU), requisition 2007.00226. The Clinical Nurse Specialist will provide professional and specialized care to a specific patient
population and their families through patient and staff education, consultation and clinical research.
The goal of the Clinical Nurse Specialist is to improve the quality of care given to patients and their
families through clinical and educational expertise.

Skills:

Requirements:
• Master’s degree in Nursing
• Current CA RN license
• AHA BLS, ACLS certification
• Clinical Nurse Specialist certification by the Board of Registered Nursing required; Certification in
specialty preferred
• For Neuroscience: documentation of at least one year experience in the nursing specialty
• For Cardiovascular: documentation of at least three years’ experience and expertise in the nursing
specialty within the last five years
• Demonstrates excellent teaching, communication and writing skills
